Identity Proofing

Est. reading time: < 1 minute

Identity proofing can be performed in a few ways.

  1. By an already vetted individual, known as a Trusted Agent, or TA, at an organization.
  2. By obtaining a notarized Declaration of Identity

The DataMotion RA collects certain ID information depending on the method of validation.

In-Person Proofing

In-person proofing is accomplished when the Registration Authority (RA) inspects a valid, government-issued photo ID and compares the photo to the applicant. The RA must also verify the ID info through record checks to confirm consistency of name, address, and date of birth. This can be delegated to an existing TA at the organization, or to a Notary Public.
